3 games, 3 loses. = = Yankees were swept by Rays in the season opener!!! T_T”
Like A-Rod said “every thing worked perfectly for them but imperfectly for us”. Hopefully it will be like what A-Rod said “Yankees will carry a sense of urgency into a series that begins Monday night in Baltimore and get the train heading in the right direction”~~~
Game 1 Recap:
C.C. Sabathia apparently did not have his best stuff. His fast ball lost command. However, he still managed to stay in the game, giving Yankees a one-run lead before he stepped off the mound in the 6th inning. After the 7-inning guy Soriano & the 8th inning “Houdini” both did their job, we were all thinking Yankees were about to win since the ball would certainly be handed to Rivera in the 9th. Nevertheless, the baseball God once again played a big joke to shock us all — Rivera blew a save in a season opener!!! What more can we say when a game lost in Rivera’s hand? = =
Game 2 Recap:
The “Error King” Nunez once more did his job on making errors! In the bottom of the 1st inning, he gave Kuroda a 2-unearned-run gift for his Yankees debut~ = = Since then, Yankees had been trailing quite a big number throughout the whole game. Swisher’s 3-run homer on the top of the 9th inning was too little, too late…
Game 3: Hughes allowed two runs and five hits, walked two and struck out five over 4 & 2/3 innings while Jeremy Hellickson came within one out of a three-hitter on his birthday and the Rays beat the Yankees 3-0.
PS: A “trivial” record — The Yankees are 0-3 for the first time since 1998, when they went on to win 114 games and the World Series!!! =.=a Is that a sign?! 😛
