2012 3rd Series Angels v.s Yankees (Season Home Opener)

14 Apr

Finally, Yankees returned to their home ballpark Yankees Stadium and felt the season officially started! 😀

Game 1 Recap: Everything went perfectly for Yankees in their season home opener! Kuroda had an 8-inning shutout; A-Rod went 3-4, reaching the 630 home run milestone and Swisher had another blast after the tiebreaker in the series finale with Orioles. The team is right on track! Hopefully, they’ll stay this way until October!!! 😛

Note: This is the 2nd quality start of the Yankees’ rotation this season.

Game 2 Recap: Like his last outing, Phil Hughes didn’t fare well. = = He only went for 3 & 1/3 innings while Phelps did another impressive relieving job, pitching 5.1 innings with only 1 run earned! The same old problem occurred for Hughes that he couldn’t make an outpitch after 0-2 counts! >_<‘ I believe Joe Girardi will give him at least 2 more starts and see how things go after Pineda is activated from the DL and Andy Pettitte joins the rotation in late May.

Game 3: Nova won his 2nd win and so did Yankees in this series. Although Nova wasn’t as sharp as was in his last start, he pitched 6 innings with 4 earned runs. The focus in this game was on offense! Everyone in the lineup had at least one hit except for Martin. =.=a Besides Jeter going 2-5 with 3 RBIs, the most worth mentioning is Teixeira~ He had two hits, including one double, and one RBI~ Welcome to May, Texi~ 😛
